The 2011 Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting ceremony will take place on Wednesday, November 30, 2011. It is one of New York’s most celebrated events for nearly 80 years; a world-wide symbol of the holiday season in New York City. Visit Rockefeller Center and see the illumination of 30,000 environmentally friendly LED lights (5 miles of wire)! The traditional Norway Spruce is crowned with a crystal Swarovski star, at Rockefeller Center (50th Street & 5th Avenue). The tree will be illuminated from 5:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. daily (24 hours on Christmas, and until 9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve).
