TCS Marathon 2016
The biggest event of the year for runners all over New York and beyond, the NYC Marathon returns in 2016. Held on November 6, 2016, the TCS New York City Marathon takes place in all five of New York's boroughs. Whether you're running or simply watching the crowds go by, you can choose a vantage spot anywhere along the race route. The Marathon starts in Staten Island at the Western end of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and passes through Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx before the runners cross the famous finish line in Central Park, outside the Tavern on the Green. Make your way over while staying at our Upper West Side hotel, and revel in the excitement firsthand.
Hydrating stations are at located every mile along the course beginning at mile 3, providing fresh water, Gatorade, and fruit to keep runners' strength and fluids up. The 2015 TCS New York City Marathon had four wave starts for runners from 9:50 to 11 AM, and 2016 is expected to follow the same pattern with starts for professional wheelchair athletes, handcycles, and some professional athletes. Check the TCS website for updated information on race start times.
The race may already be sold out for this year, but there are plenty of ways to get into the spirit of the NYC Marathon at Hotel Belleclaire. Whether you're a runner or a spectator, our hotel near Central Park is hosting a hearty pasta night on the Sunday before the marathon, providing good company and cheer before the big race. In the morning, we'll be providing energy-maintaining essentials like granola bars, bottled water, and bananas before our guest runners leave. Charge up, and enjoy one of the most exhilarating events in NYC!
