MEDIOCRE, BUT COULD BE GREAT

I have stayed at this hotel a number of times, mainly because of the location. Each time I go back I look for improvements, but other than a new entrance sign that is about it. The entrance to the hotel and lobby is still bleak, the hallway on my floor needed new carpeting, a broken blind in my room, a mattress with a dip in the middle...all this and a very small room. They do have fancy towels and nice bathroom amenities, but my bathroom was extremely small. On top of all that, I was told they would put a $50.00 retainer on my bill...they never said $50.00 per night. Some times during the year this hotel charges extremely high prices for what you get. So be sure you get a fair rate for a very mediocre accommodation

Amazing hotel in the UWS!!

Stayed at this hotel for 5 days at the start of 2020. Absolute 5* customer service, I can not fault this hotel at all! Walking distance to the 72nd and 79th street station which can get you anywhere in the city, and we just love the quietness of the upper west side. Upon arriving we made the hotel aware that we were newlyweds and were on our honeymoon from Ireland. The hotel then immediately upgraded our room to a parlour on the 9th floor which was absolutely outstanding, a great start to our honeymoon. Oh and the champagne in our room when we returned that evening was a class touch!! Special mention to shanies hunte who made our stay so memorable, her customer service was fantastic!so friendly and helpful! This hotel is a must for anyone visiting NYC!!!we will defiantly be back! Thank you to all at the Belleclaire for an amazing stay!! Stephen & Eri

Hidden Gem

Needed a room on the upper West Side for Sunday Jan 5 . My wife and I were very pleased with our choice of the Belleclaire . The location was excellent and the service was very friendly and top notch from bellman to front desk. We reserved a parlor suite which was perfect for our needs . We needed to check out at 530 AM and the bellman was very helpful and front desk friendly . There are many restaurants in the area within walking distance and enjoyed a excellent meal on Sunday night at Cesca a fine Italian restaurant . In total we were very pleased with the hotel and will return

Lovely Boutique Hotel, Great Service - take it from a picky New Yorker!

My husband and I recently moved out of the city, but still need to travel in on occasion for business. We know A LOT of hotels in town. We've watched the development of the Hotel Belleclaire since it began renovations a few years ago. The new lobby is fresh and chic, and the patisserie delicious! The staff is very warm and attentive, and the Manager Robert is extremely thoughtful! The rooms, all in varying degrees of renovation (central AC still underway) are comortable and the beds are great quality sleep beds! A gem and landmark in the charming Ansonia neighborhood of the UWS
