Three stars doesn’t mean ...

Three stars doesn’t mean that it is a bad place at all. But the Grand Hyatt it is not. It is a very functional hotel with practical rooms and virtually no hotel services. Which can actually be a plus. There is no dining room, no food delivered to the rooms, very little communal sitting areas.you pay for your hotel room and the rest of the time you are out and about. The ratio price/quality is very good but just make sure you are not looking for a full concierge service hotel.

The staff were courteous ...

The staff were courteous and helpful but the room was a bit of a let down, the bathroom wasn’t the cleanest and our sink struggled to drain. We were staying for a week to get married and the room was too small for that length of time, I was also disappointed there was no acknowledgement of our marriage despite informing the reception staff that was the purpose of our visit. The location was great for us and overall it was fine overall but I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again.

There is so much ...

There is so much to recommend this hotel but unfortunately our experience was pretty frustrating. A month before our trip I called the hotel directly to confirm that the room we planned to book would accommodate a rollaway bed for our child - and was told it would. The day before our reservation was to begin, still in the free cancellation period, I again called the hotel to confirm and reserve a rollaway bed - and was told the information had been added to our booking - no problems. When we arrived, we confirmed at check in we wanted a rollaway bed, and tried to wait before going to our dinner reservation for it to be delivered. We finally had to leave, but encountered staff in the hallway with the bed, on the way to our room, and confirmed that some furniture would need to be removed from the room to accommodate it. Was told it would be no problem. Finally, returned late from dinner with a tired 4 year old to no rollaway bed in the room! A call to guest services informed us “your room size cannot accommodate a rollaway bed”! This was so frustrating as I had gone out of my way to confirm this multiple times and now it was too late to change our reservation. Staff did come to deliver the bed and remove the one piece of furniture at that point - but the whole experience seemed unnecessarily stressful.

We paid for this ...

We paid for this hotel as part of a package holiday which included a cruise with Carnival. So upon checking out I was given a $120 bill for facilities charges even though the hotel was pre paid. I asked about this and was told it was for the up keep of the gym. I wasn’t even told they had a gym. Pure theft when you’re not told this before hand and I had no choice but to pay as they had my debit card details. Apart from been robbed $120 on checkout the hotel was ok and in a decent location.
