You know when you ...

You know when you have that polite colleague who agrees to let you stay at their place in an emergency, not because they want to, but because they’re too polite to say no? They provide everything you need, but you can sense they’d rather you weren’t there? That’s how I felt at this hotel. The staff at reception were polite, but it ended there (I understand it’s NYC, where people can be more impersonal). On the positive side, room service and housekeeping were a bit friendlier, and the room itself was very clean. However, the room is very small and be careful with the bathroom design. There’s a step to enter the shower, which I missed because it was dark, and I ended up falling and cutting my elbow and toe. Another downside was that the WiFi didn’t work at night. I’m giving 3 stars because the room was clean and the location is great, but the overall atmosphere felt cold. The staff didn’t seem happy, though I’m not sure if that’s due to the hotel’s culture or something else. If all you care about is location and cleanliness, this place works. But if you’re looking for something more welcoming, this might not be the right choice.

The rooms are small ...

The rooms are small and a bit on the dirty side, such is NYC. But you really can’t beat the area. An easy Central Park stroll to the Met, The Frick and the Guggenheim. There’s a subway station on 72nd and now that they use Apple Pay it’s a breeze to get around. $2.90 for a train ride anywhere in the city. Cheaper and way faster than a taxi. The hotel also gives out $10 coupons for the bakery next store. Made for a fabulous cheap breakfast.

Standard room and bathroom ...

Standard room and bathroom were very small, no tea or coffee making facilities in room. Rather basic for the price.
