My first time staying ...

My first time staying at the Belle Claire and I will make it my go-to hotel in NYC. I used to stay at the Arthouse. My room was New York small but very cozy and clean. Plenty of towels and washcloths. A small two drawer bureau to put my clothes in and a good sized closet. The bathroom had a nice walk-in shower. The elevators were small but quick - no wait. The staff was really the best asset and everyone from the desk personnel to the bell hop were more than willing to give me advice on traveling on the subway. My only wish is for somewhere in the lobby to lounge. A comfy chair, lamp, coffee table in a corner? I really wanted to read my book while it was raining outside and I was tired of being in my room. There are coupons for a daily "breakfast" (coffee and pastry) from Milles Feuilles next door. I never used the coupons because of the line, but also - in New York there are so many other options within walking distance. But it is a nice perk. Overall, a fantastic experience!

The hotel boasts a fantastic location, just a 35-minute walk from Times Square and a 10-minute walk from Central Park. It features two small elevators and a coffee shop. Inside, the building has a pleasant, clean, and historic ambiance. The staff is exceptionally kind and helpful. However, our double bed room on the 9th floor, which cost more than $500 CAD per night, surprisingly lacked a fridge or minibar. To add a fridge, we were informed that it would cost an additional $30 per night. It is disappointing to discover that a hotel room does not include a standard amenity like a fridge or minibar.
