This is an exceptional ...

This is an exceptional value. It is a European style hotel - narrow hallways and a simple lobby, however, the rooms are very newly renovated and spotless. The beds and linens are quite comfortable. I have now stayed here twice and both times been upgraded to rooms with views of Broadway, but the rooms are still pin-drop quiet. Every staff member is really exceptional: friendly, helpful and engaging. There is a lot of privacy here. The hotel provides breakfast for some guests by way of vouchers to a french bakery on the ground floor called Mille-Feuille. The little place is wonderful. The croissants and coffee are like being in Paris, the staff all seem to actually be French and they are amazingly friendly and helpful. I have to say that this is one of those places (the hotel and the bakery) where I don't want the secret to get out, but they deserve to succeed. I lived in the City for 11 years and have traveled there for work and pleasure for 40 years. I have stayed in the best known, the hippest, the most luxe, and some dives. This is quite simply the best hotel deal in Manhattan.

I stayed here while ...

I stayed here while recovering from surgery for over 2 weeks. The Bellaclaire was so accommodating in every possible way. Every person was wonderful to us and cheering me on during my recovery. It was clean, the breakfast was wonderful, and the workout room was a great outlet for my guest. Veronica was so helpful extending my stay when things weren’t going as quickly as we thought with my recovery. This is truly the best place to stay in NYC especially if you have an extended stay. It has been a great home away from home!

Highly recommend this friendly, ...

Highly recommend this friendly, very clean hotel. The outside is 1800s-looking and so the interior was a fun, updated surprise. Everything you need is here - plenty of comfortable seating in a quiet, sleek area at the end of the lobby. Well placed benches near the front, for waiting for uber, etc. A bar-restaurant on site is atmospheric -we only peeked in, with no time to enjoy it. And a rightfully popular, absolutely delicious, bakery on site. Vouchers to the bakery are included with the room, which was our favorite perk. The area has excellent restaurants and transportation. Good location. Sleeping was surprisingly quiet. I only wish the windows opened for air, which is hard to find in New York! At least the windows were big, letting in beautiful light and also with blackout shades for those who like sleeping in full darkness. We stayed the night for our daughter’s wedding in Central Park. We upgraded to the New Amsterdam suite, a sunshiny, comfortable suite with a pretty view of interesting buildings. Bath & ½, water in the fridge, microwave - great for getting ready for a wedding! And a great option for a long stay. Most importantly, after our good impression, when something went awry, I had no time to address it until we returned home. When I contacted the hotel via email – the issue was professionally and immediately rectified. THAT is the most important of all and is the reason I made sure to take the time to write this review. If you’re wondering if you should stay here, we think you should feel comfortable booking the reservation! Have fun!
