Stayed here in July ...

Stayed here in July 2024 when my daughter had outpatient surgery. We couldn’t have had any better service, understanding for our circumstances and genuine support. It was a very difficult time for my daughter and we appreciated the compassion given to our family. Additionally, we loved the hotel vibe and neighborhood. The breakfast bakery was outstanding!

Standard room and bathroom ...

Standard room and bathroom were very small, no tea or coffee making facilities in room. Rather basic for the price.

This is my go-to ...

This is my go-to hotel in NYC after moving away - the Upper West Side is where you want to be! Tons of cute restaurants, shops, and easy access to transportation and Central Park. Don't do what the tourists do and stay in Times Square - stay where the real New Yorkers live and play. This trip started with the best check-in ever with Diamond and Benedict, who are truly the nicest and most efficient ever - immediately friendly and welcoming! So helpful with my early arrival. Great bakery where you get a $10 credit per day - enough for a drink or pastry, or pay a few bucks more and get both. Free waters in the room. I can't comment on the main restaurant, Allure, because I haven't tried it, but it's always busy at dinner time. Stay here - believe me - it's a great deal and one of the best locations in NYC!

I review very little ...

I review very little but felt compelled to review for this stay for future travelers. We are currently staying at this hotel and we find for a 4 Star hotel it lacks in certain basic ammentities. The bathrooms had no place to set our toiletries. One 3" glass shelf under the mirror was all we had. Housekeeping lacked basics. No kleenix in the bathroom, no washcloths twice after making up the room. The glass doors on the shower would get stuck on the tile floor. We visited New York to celebrate our 50th Anniversary so upon arrival i requested an upgrade. I originally booked a deluxe king and I believe that's exactly what we received as the upgrade. The room was large enough but only had a small desk chair. No real place to sit and relax other than the bed which was very comfortable. Thin walls but little outside street noise. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The restaurant has a unique vibe and was a nice place to have a drink. Small and pricey. They charged me $2 on top of the $16 for an upgrade in liquor? I ordered a Jack Daniels and coke and when I asked about the upchage I got "that's what we have to do". The French pastry shop attached to the lobby was outstanding and the $10 voucher the hotel gives you daily covered a coffee and roll which we thought was enough.
